Useful Links & Resources

The following links are some resources to explore that we have found to be helpful.  This is not a comprehensive list and will be added to and updated throughout the school year.  Most are free, but some do sell products, require a subscription or offer resources/training for a fee.  Please feel free to contact us with feedback or suggestions if you have other resources you feel we should include on this page.  
National Alliance on Mental Illness - Westchester - NAMI Westchester helps families and individuals affected by mental illness
build better lives through education, support, and advocacy.  Their website provides many resources including information regarding virtual support groups for families and friends of people living with a mental illness. 

​PBS kids for Parents - This website provides many resources, tips and advice for parenting children of all ages.

ADDitude Magazine - This website provides parenting information and resources, including informative webinars about helping students learn from home.  It focuses on resources for children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, but the webinar information and parenting tips can be used with all children.  

Big Life Journal - This website provides resources for parenting and fostering a growth mindset in children, including free podcasts for children.  

​Aperture Education Family Resources - This web-page provides remote learning Social Emotional Learning resources for students of all ages on 8 important SEL domains.  

Emotional ABCs - This on-line SEL curriculum is subscription based and geared toward younger children (K-3).

Healthy Children - Powered by the American Academy of Pediatrics, this website provides many resources, tips and advice for parenting children of all ages​

Little Flower Yoga - This website provides articles, videos and resources about topics including mindfulness, yoga, self-care and helping children manage anxiety.

Let Grow - This website provides information and resources for fostering resilience and independence in children.

CASEL - The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning
 is helping make evidence-based social and emotional learning an integral part of education from preschool through high school.

National Association of School Psychologists- This link provides many different articles for parents and educators about a variety of different topics including a COVID-19 Resource Center.

Autism Speaks- This is the website for Autism Speaks, which is an organization that brings Autism to the forefront. It also has excellent articles about Autism Spectrum Disorders, what research is being conducted, and the legislation that is being put into effect.

National Center for Learning Disabilities- This website provides information and resources about learning disabilities. 

Engage NY- This is the official website for current materials and resources related to the NYS P-12 Common Core Learning Standards.
